Smeared ink and charcoal...on my pants.

Oh my gosh! Why did those little notecards take me SO LONG??? They were kinda fun though and all my suite mates loved looking through them and deciphering my randomness. But seriously. It took literally ALL DAY to complete those things. I had done 30 earlier in the week and had today to finish them. Geesh. I had wanted to throw slabs today to start carving, but I guess I'll just have to do that tomorrow.


Total hours:9.5.

So I did about 3 more hours of research, reading and writing and with the added hours of class a new addition of 5 hours is made to my total giving me

15 hours....so far....

Hours of researching in 500 Figures in Clay, Potters of the 21st Century, and artisits I like of the internet: 5.
Hours it took me to sit down and read Art and Fear with MANY distractions: 5.

Total hours:10.

I will do this. I will make art I love; Art I care about. This semester is different because I am different.

I have been reading through Art and Fear, nodding my head the whole way, and thinking "Wow, real life and real art-making on my own is just around the corner." I finished a book my friend Katie gave me for my birthday called The Starving Artists Survival Guide. It was a humorous read through and made me think that my life doesn't look so terribly bleak. The time i have now is a blessing, and I plan on taking full advantage of it.
